Parenting Workshops
We teach half day and full day parenting workshops all with the underlying theme of connecting with our kids while correcting them. In our workshops you will be equipped with a holistic understanding of the needs and development of your children and empowered with new tools and strategies to effectively meet those needs, build trust and help your children grow.
Coaching
We offer in person and over the phone coaching specifically to adoptive and foster parents. If you are having specific issues in your family we would love to hear what is going on and see if there are some practical ways that we might help. Our coaching relies heavily on the Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) model developed by Dr. Karyn Purvis and the experiences that we have had ourselves as adoptive and foster parents.
9 Week Parenting Class
Both of our coaches have received training from Empowered to Connect to teach the Connect Course. This is a 9 week class that meets every week for two hours. During the course of this training, you will gain greater understanding about the possible impacts of your child's history, what you yourself bring to the parent-child relationship, the importance of attachment, the role of fear, and the importance of meeting your child's sensory processing, nutritional, and other physical needs.
