Matt and Stacey Borst have been married for 20 years, they have 5 children (3 biological and 2 adopted). They both have been trained by Empowered to Connect to teach both the Prepare and Connect Courses. In addition to being a father for 18 years, Matt has been a youth pastor, mentor, substitute teacher, and is currently a Court Appointed Special Advocate for about 30 kids. Stacey has been a stay at home mom, children's director in two different churches, substitute teacher, and staff member at a local elementary school. Anthony and Lauren Troyer have been married for 6 years and have been foster parents most of their married lives. Although Anthony was already a high school teacher for at-risk youth, foster care opened their eyes to the reality of trauma in a whole new way. They quickly realized they needed more tools and strategies, so they dove into TBRI. Anthony is a TBRI Practitioner through Texas Christian University, and both Anthony and Lauren are trained to teach Empowered To Connect Courses as well.
